These sisal, woven baskets are handmade by a weaving cooperative in southeastern Kenya. The women hand-dye the sisal fibers and weave them into these beautiful works of art.
This type of weaving is called fine weave because it is woven with very thin sisal twine, making it a more intricate, time-consuming design and a true work of art. Use this African basket as a plant holder, for storage, or to brighten up a shelf!
